FAQ:
Q. What is the screen mesh made of?
A. SOLA™ offers a variety of Phifer screens to suit your de-sired
requirements. The screen fabrics are high quality vinyl-coated
polyester or fiberglass. Whether you are looking to
achieve maximum ventilation, protection from pests, solar
protection or a combination of these, your qualified dealer can
recommend the option that will best fit your needs.
Q. Can you see through the screen?
A. Yes. SOLA Screens are a practical solution because the
screen material is available in a variety of weaves. Now you
can block the heat and glare of the sun, without sacrificing your
view.
Q. What color of screen is easiest to see through?
A. Dark colors are easiest to see through because they absorb
most of the sun’s light and glare. Light colors reflect light back
to your eyes making them a better choice for maximum privacy.
Q. How do SOLA Screens protect me from insects?
A. SOLA Screens incorporate a unique edge retention system
that keeps the screen in a track and prevents insects and other
pests from entering your home or patio while the screen is in
the down position.
Q. What happens if I use my SOLA Screen in high
winds?
A. We do not recommend that you operate your SOLA
Screens in extremely windy conditions as SOLA Screens are
not intended to provide wind protection. SOLA’s edge retention
system, however, does allow you to keep your screens down
in light to moderate winds without blowing out of the side guide
rails. If you live in a windy area, we recommend that you pur-chase
a wind sensor that will automatically retract your SOLA
Screen when it becomes windy.

HEALTH & SAFETY
Eclipse Technologies has incorporated many product en-hancements
into SOLA that have made the company an
industry leader in developing innovative health and safety
features:
By selecting solar screen options, you can block up to
97% of harmful UV Rays. SOLA Offers a wide variety of
solar screens to meet your needs. Solar options such as
Sheerweave ® 2100 are GREENGUARD Certified. This en-sures
that the highest industry standards for low chemical
emissions are being met to maintain good indoor air qual-ity
for the health of building occupants. .
Suntex ® 80 Mesh offers solar protection and
is tear and puncture resistant making this a
great option for pets and children.
Tightly woven screen mesh provides protec-tions
against “no-see-ums” and other tiny insects. Many
people have increasing concerns about the relentless ad-vance
of mosquito borne West Nile Virus. While no one
can guarantee a bug will never find its way in, the unique
end retention system holds the screen securely in place on
all sides.

REDUCE ENERGY CONSUMPTION
Turn off your air conditioning more often and reduce
your energy consumption by installing SOLA Motor-ized
Screens as exterior window shades. Deflecting
the sun’s rays before they have passed through your
window’s glass is seven times more effective at keep-ing
you cool than interior blinds or curtains.
NATURAL AIR FLOW
Choose SOLA Screens as a method to create natural
cross-ventilation while keeping pests out. Cross-ventilation
occurs when you open a door or window
on each side of the house and the air pressure pulls
the fresh air in and the stale air out.
Exterior solar screens can deflect up to 97% of ultra-violet
radiation helping to maintain indoor climates. |
